About the World

The gods were never a myth.

Their truth is just lost to time. Atlantis didn't fall — it went underground, a hidden civilization run by the descendants of Zeus, Poseidon, Ares, and the rest of the pantheon, quietly protecting a world that has no idea they exist.

Zach, a fifteen-year-old math prodigy from Miami, has just been recruited into their ranks — the first new member the team has taken on in a mortal generation. Rise of Atlantis: Young Gods is his story.

Tone of the Read

What we're listening for

This is a contemporary YA voice, not a myth-book narrator voice — think fast, funny ensemble banter with real stakes underneath it, not a solemn retelling of legend. The scene below is Zach's first meeting with the full team, and it plays like a room full of people testing the new kid: teasing, needling, showing off, and — underneath all of it — quietly deciding whether he belongs.

We want to hear range across a single scene: dry deadpan next to blunt physical comedy next to real arrogance next to warmth, all while a nervous fifteen-year-old tries to hold his own. Bring the humor. Don't lose the stakes.

The Passage
